Job summary

IDEXX is seeking an Associate Scientist for the Assay Design & Development group in New Product Development. You will design, execute, and validate PCR-based assays, analyze data, and communicate findings to R&D, Operations, and Manufacturing.

You will contribute to reagent scale-up, process improvements, and technology transfer while ensuring adherence to quality and regulatory standards. A strong background in biochemistry or molecular biology is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or related field.
• 3-5 years of relevant industry or academic laboratory experience.
• Experience with PCR reagents, oligonucleotides, plasmids, enzymes, or molecular diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and troubleshoot multi-variable lab experiments and communicate findings.
• Perform testing, characterization, and validation of reagents and final products.
• Analyze data and provide recommendations based on results.
• Prepare solutions, reagents, and maintain ELNs, databases, and reports.
• Prepare presentations and communicate results to cross-functional teams.
• Support reagent scale-up, process improvements, investigations, and tech transfer.
• Ensure work complies with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Design/execute/analyze experiments focusing on PCR assay design and testing.
