Job summary

Lonza is seeking an Associate Scientist for the MSAT Development Services Laboratory in Portsmouth, NH. This site-based role partners with experienced scientists to perform studies, analyze data, and contribute to process and analytical development activities in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.

You will execute studies, collect data, and prepare protocols and reports under guidance, while supporting lab operations and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related scientific discipline.
• 0–2 years of biotechnology or laboratory operations experience.
• Ability to follow scientific procedures and document data.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Execute laboratory studies and analytical testing following procedures and protocols.
• Collect, analyze, and document experimental data to support development activities.
• Prepare study protocols, reports, and other technical documentation with guidance.
• Support laboratory operations, including equipment monitoring and maintenance.
• Participate in safety initiatives and maintain quality/regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with internal project teams and provide progress updates.
• Complete training and develop technical expertise across lab functions.

What you will do

• Execute laboratory studies and analytical testing following established procedures and scientific protocols.

What we are looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
• 0-2 years of experience in biotechnology, laboratory operations, manufacturing, research, or a related technical environment preferred.
• Ability to follow scientific procedures and established laboratory practices.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to accurately document work and interpret data.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
