Position Overview

The Associate Scientist I position is part of the Upstream Process Development team in the Protein Business Unit of Aldevron. This is an on-site position at the facility located in Madison, WI. You will be a part of the Technical Operations team and report to the Upstream Process Development manager. Your responsibilities will revolve around developing processes to produce recombinant proteins using microbial host expression systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete all assigned laboratory work, including execution, analysis, and reporting of protein expression projects.
  • Design and execute process development experiments with moderate guidance and using existing experimental strategies.
  • Share project data during client or internal meetings with guidance.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary scientists on development and manufacturing projects, playing an integral role on project teams.
Minimum Requirements
  • College degree in biology, biotechnology, molecular biology, biochemistry, chemistry, or a closely related field with relevant work experience: Associate with 3+ years; Bachelor's with 1+ years; Master’s with none.
  • Experience working in a microbial laboratory environment.
  • Understanding of microbial expression system variables.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in molecular biology, microbiology, and data analysis.
  • Experience running fermentation systems.
