Job summary

Alnylam Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is seeking an Associate Scientist II in Delivery Biology at our Cambridge, MA site.

The role focuses on improving cellular delivery of nucleic acid–based therapeutics and generating high-quality in vitro and ex vivo data to support delivery programs in a matrixed research environment. The ideal candidate has 1–3 years in cell biology with hands-on experience in cell culture, transfections, imaging, qPCR, and flow cytometry.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field.
  • 1–3 years of relevant lab experience.
  • Experience with cell-based assays and tissue processing preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on an interdisciplinary team to expand targeted delivery into new cell types and tissues.
  • Establish and execute cell-based in vitro and ex vivo assays.
  • Work with tissue leads to identify cells and tissues for productive delivery of targeted oligonucleotides.
  • Analyze, document, and interpret experimental data with strong attention to detail and data integrity.

OverviewWe are seeking a highly motivated Associate Scientist II in Delivery Biology to support our efforts focused on improving the cellular delivery of nucleic acid–based therapeutics. The successful candidate will play a key part in generating high-quality in vitro and ex vivo data to support delivery biology programs in a highly matrixed, cross-functional research environment. The individual will need excellent collaboration and communication skills to work collaboratively across the research department. This is a lab-based role at our Cambridge site.Key ResponsibilitiesContribute to an interdisciplinary team focused on expanding targeted delivery into new cell types and tissues.Establish and execute cell based in vitro and ex vivo assays.Work collaboratively with tissue leads to help identify new cells and tissues to enable productive delivery of targeted oligonucleotides.Analyze, document, and interpret experimental data with strong attention to detail and data integrity.Transparently communicate results with key stakeholders throughout the organization.QualificationsBS or MS with 1-3 years of experience in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline.Industry experience is preferred but not necessary.Demonstrated expertise in in vitro cell biology techniques and cell-based assays such as cell culture, transfections, imaging, qPCR, and flow cytometry.Experience with tissue processing and primary cell isolation.Comfortable working in a highly collaborative, matrixed research environment.Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) are essential.#LI-JR1U.S. Pay Range$67,600.00 - $101,400.00The pay range reflects the full-time base salary range we expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Base pay will be determined based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, and education.
