Alnylam Pharmaceuticals, Inc. seeks an Associate Scientist II to advance RNAi therapeutic programs from bench to clinic.

You will design and execute studies in rodent disease models, run qPCR, ELISA, and western blot analyses, and support both in vivo and in vitro characterizations of drug activity. The role requires life sciences training with hands-on experience in molecular assays, rodent handling, and data interpretation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a life sciences-related discipline with 1–3 years of experience or a Master's with 0–2 years of experience.
  • Proficiency in RNA/DNA/protein analysis techniques including RNA isolation, ELISA, western blotting, and RT-qPCR.
  • Experience with cell culture and basic laboratory techniques; experimental design skills.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to study design and execution of studies to characterize RNAi compounds in rodent disease models.
  • Develop and conduct assays such as qPCR, western blot, and ELISA to support in vivo and in vitro studies.
  • Perform in vitro and cell-based assays to characterize drug activity or mechanism of action.
  • Perform in vivo procedures in rodents, including administration of therapeutics via established methods.
  • Analyze and interpret data, prepare experimental reports and presentations, and develop protocols.

OverviewWe are seeking a talented candidate to fill an Associate Scientist II position within Alnylam’s Research department. This position is an opportunity to potentially see one’s work progress from the bench to the clinic and positively impact patients’ lives. The successful candidate will support development of current therapeutic programs as part of a multidisciplinary team and be involved in the discovery of RNAi compounds for a variety of novel indications and support their entry into the clinic. The successful candidate will have background in biological sciences and be technically skilled in basic laboratory techniques. Responsibilities will include designing, developing, and executing studies in rodent disease models, evaluation of small interfering RNAs (siRNAs) in wild-type animals, and conducting the associated in vitro molecular-based assays such as transcript and protein quantitation. Base pay will be determined based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, and education.
