Job summary

AbbVie is seeking an Associate Scientist II in Bioanalysis within the Regulated Bioanalysis group of QTAS. The role supports clinical and non-clinical studies by analyzing biological samples for drugs and metabolites under GLP regulations.

Responsibilities include working with plasma, serum, urine, and other matrices while maintaining advanced LC-MS systems. The position emphasizes independent execution, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and interest in evolving bioanalytical methods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, with 3+ years of relevant experience; or master's with no additional experience.
• Experience handling biological samples and performing sample preparation techniques (protein precipitation, LLE, SPE).
• Experience with Hamilton Starlet automated liquid handling systems.
• Experience operating Shimadzu liquid chromatography systems.
• Experience with Applied Biosystems mass spectrometers (API4000/5000/5500/6500).
• Experience with ELN, LIMS, and Analyst software.
• Familiarity with regulatory bioanalysis guidelines and regulated environments.
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills with ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to project progress through laboratory activities analyzing bioanalytical samples under GLP.
• Handle biological matrices (plasma, serum, urine, blood).
• Maintain and troubleshoot LC systems and mass spectrometers.
• Perform routine and complex tasks independently with inspection-ready results.
• Stay updated on separations and MS trends.
• Review multistep results and plan follow-up experiments.
• Apply literature concepts to solve problems in bioanalysis.
