Job summary

BioIVT in Kansas City, KS is looking for an Associate Scientist I to perform manufacturing, troubleshoot product issues, and support drug metabolism research. The role involves routine lab duties, adherence to SOPs, and maintaining quality standards.

The candidate will prepare subcellular fractions and hepatocytes from human and animal tissues, ensure proper documentation, and contribute to a collaborative team environment with rotating on-call responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a biological or chemical science field; 2 years’ experience.
• Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet, and graphics software.
• Ability to work in a team laboratory environment with scientific terminology.

Responsibilities

• Prepares subcellular fractions from tissues, including processing and centrifugation.
• Prepares fresh and cryopreserved hepatocytes from human and animal livers, including isolation and plating.
• Manufactures products per SOPs and assists in workflow changes.
• Administers DEA approved controlled substances and conducts small animal surgery as needed.
• Performs rodent hepatocyte isolations and processes intact human/animal tissues.
• Maintains laboratories and equipment; completes batch records and equipment logs.
