The role sits in the Investigative Toxicology and Pathology group, serving as a key interface between internal stakeholders from discovery to preclinical toxicology. Strong scientific and organizational skills will support risk assessment for novel therapeutics in early development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biology or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience for Associate I; Master’s degree with no experience also acceptable.
• Hands-on one year of experience in cell culture or in vitro model development.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and troubleshoot.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and GraphPad Prism for data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in vitro, cell culture-based studies to support risk assessment for novel therapeutics.
• Develop and utilize simple and complex in vitro models (spheroids, organoids) across cell/tissue types.
• Run endpoints such as western blot, ELISA, cell viability, and immunofluorescent imaging.
• Independently generate reliable data with strong interpretation and timely delivery.
• Demonstrate excellent communication in a diverse, cross-functional environment.

Job Description

We areseekingahighly engagedscientist willing todevelop andenhance current skills in cell culture andcomplex in vitro model development. The position, as part of the Investigative Toxicology and Pathology group, is a key interface between internal stakeholders across AbbVie (Discovery, Development Sciences,andPreclinical Toxicology). Using strong scientific and organizational skills,and use cell culture and molecular biology techniques, the successful candidate is expected toimpactrisk assessment for novel therapeutics in the early development pipeline.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in vitro, cell culture-based studies by supporting development and conduct of in vitro cell culture studies, the successful candidate will contribute to risk assessment for novel therapeutics in the early development pipeline

• Develop Utilize and build both simple and complex in vitro models (spheroids and organoids) across a diverse range of cell and tissue types
• Run endpoints such as western blot, ELISA, cell viability assessments and immunofluorescent imaging to screen compounds and evaluate mechanisms driving toxicity
• Independently generate reliable and reproducible datain a timely manner. Demonstrate experimental precision and strong data interpretation skills

• Exhibitexcellent communication skills in a diverse and cross-functional environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent educationin biology or related field (Associate I) and 3-5 years of experienceorMaster’sdegree or equivalent education in biology or related fieldwith no experiencerequired (Associate II)
• Hands-on one year of experience within cell culture and in vitro model developmentand/or maintenance
• Ability to work and contribute within a team
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong critical thinking skills and ability to troubleshoot
• Fast learner, able to generate and analyze data with little supervision
• Proficientwith Microsoftexcel andGraphpadprismfor data analysis

Preferred

• Proven record of experience working collaboratively to make scientific contributions to the scientific community
• Knowledge and familiarity withcellular biology
• Experience with microscopy,ELISA, proteinquantification
