Job summary
USTech Solutions in Oceanside, CA is seeking an Associate Scientist for a 12-month contract to support purification process development, including high-throughput purification of upstream/cell culture samples and downstream characterization.
The role emphasizes developing and optimizing HT purification assays using automation platforms (Tecan, Hamilton), with hands-on lab work and data documentation.
Qualifications
- MS with 2+ years or BS with 4+ years in chemical engineering, biochemistry, bioengineering, or related field.
- Experience developing/executing HT purification assays with automated liquid handling (Tecan, Hamilton).
- Experience with chromatography (AKTA, plate-based) and filtration.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Execute HT purification workflows for upstream/cell culture samples to support process characterization.
- Operate, optimize, and maintain automated liquid handling systems (Hamilton, Tecan).
- Develop, qualify, and refine HT purification assays and microscale methods.
- Collaborate with upstream teams to ensure timely sample processing and data delivery.
- Prepare high-quality protocols, reports, and electronic lab notebook documentation.
