Job summary

The American Cancer Society, Inc. is seeking an Associate Scientist in the Population Science program to advance epidemiologic research on cancer prevention, detection, treatment, and survivorship.

You will work with principal scientists and a team of analysts on statistical modeling, reporting, and collaboration support. Requires a Master’s in Epidemiology and at least one year of statistical programming experience.

Qualifications

• Ability to conduct statistical analyses and interpret results using R.
• Willingness to learn additional software and programming languages (e.g., Python, SQL).
• Knowledge of epidemiologic research methods including cross-sectional, longitudinal, survival analysis, and case-control methods.

Responsibilities

• Design and conduct internal research studies using ACS datasets (CPS II and 3).
• Provide statistical programming support for collaborative studies with external researchers.
• Generate presentations and reports for internal and external use.
• Assist in the preparation of papers for publication in epidemiology and public health.
• Document analytic programs and data management to facilitate record-keeping and reuse.
• Contribute to data analysis and department data management needs.
