Job summary

Proven Recruiting is seeking an Associate Scientist to support blood processing and assay development in Milwaukee, with a 9-month onsite contract and a training period in Toronto, Canada. The role involves hands-on clinical assay work using real patient samples and cross-functional collaboration to advance a next-generation diagnostic platform.

You will perform analytical experiments, process up to 40–50 samples daily, and troubleshoot instrumentation while contributing to the full assay

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biotechnology, or a related field
• 2-5+ years of hands-on experience in clinical, analytical, or assay development labs
• Experience handling clinical samples (blood, urine) and GLP exposure is a plus
• Coding is a plus (Python and/or R)
• Valid passport and ability to travel to Canada for training in April

• Execute analytical and clinical experiments supporting assay development, optimization, and verification
• Prepare, process, and analyze up to 40–50 clinical blood samples per day across multiple instruments and prototypes
• Troubleshoot assay and instrumentation issues, document results, and communicate findings to project teams

ASSOCIATE SCIENTIST, Blood processing and Assay Development, Work location is MILWAUKEE, WI, start date 4/20/2026, $30–$42/HR

Interested in hands-on clinical assay work that directly supports patient-impacting diagnostics? Join an innovative biotech organization building a next-generation diagnostic platform, where you’ll work with real clinical samples in a hospital setting, prototype instruments, and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. This is a 9 month, onsite contract role in Milwaukee with 1-2 week training in Toronto, Canada at the headquarters in April 2026.

Who you are:

• BS or MS in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biotechnology, or a related field
• 2-5+ years of hands-on academic or industry experience in clinical, analytical, or assay development labs
• Experience handling clinical samples (blood, urine) and following GLP; CLIA/CAP or GMP exposure is a plus
• Prior coding is a plus, not required ie python and / or R.
• Valid passport and ability to travel to Canada for required training in April.

What you’ll do:

What does this position pay?

Compensation is determined by several factors which may include skillset, experience level, and education. The expected range for this role is $30–$42 per hour. Please note this range is an estimate and actual pay may vary based on qualifications and experience.
