Job summary

Neomorph is seeking an experienced associate scientist to support drug discovery by profiling lead compounds, validating targets, and generating robust data packages for decision-making. The role involves cross-functional collaboration and communicating results across the organization from our San Diego base.

The ideal candidate has strong cell and molecular biology skills, experience with BSL2/BSL2+ practices, and a track record in high-throughput assay development and data analysis.

Qualifications

• MS with 5+ years of industry experience.
• BS with 8+ years of industry experience.
• Proficiency with routine cell and molecular biology techniques (tissue culture, immunofluorescence, qRT-PCR, western blotting, ELISA).
• Proficiency with BSL2/BSL2+ practices.
• Strong hands-on experience with cell-based assay development, optimization, data analysis, and troubleshooting.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Desire and capacity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced research setting.

Responsibilities

• Profile the biological activities of lead compounds in relevant cellular models/assays.
• Assess glue degrader mechanism of action using established assays.
• Elucidate biological mechanisms of action that confer pharmacodynamic effects of lead compounds.
• Delineate mechanisms of sensitivity and resistance using chemical and genetic approaches to define desired compound profiles.
• Support molecular and cell biology platforms for target identification and validation through plasmid cloning and cell line engineering.
• Analyze and document experimental results using Microsoft Excel, GraphPad Prism, and other applicable data systems.
• Communicate results and solicit effective input and feedback in a variety of internal settings.
