MilliporeSigma is seeking an Associate Scientist 2 - Analytical Development to support analytical method development/validation and feasibility/transfer within the Analytical Laboratory. Your Role

At MilliporeSigma, as an Associate Scientist 2 - Analytical Development, you will work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) to support analytical method development/validation and feasibility/transfer within the Analytical Laboratory as part of the Analytical &Bioassay department. You are responsible for the scientific integrity of technical work performed in the laboratory, and are required to make scientific observations, maintain detailed workbooks/documentation and ensure all documentation fulfills generally accepted professional/industry standards. Requirements also include maintaining a thorough understanding of company testing services, technical principles, laboratory operations, and applicable technologies to support the successful development and implementation of analytical methods for clinical and commercial products.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand GMP requirements for analytical method validation, transfer and associated documentation.
• Support analytical method development/validation and feasibility/transfer activities, ensuring studies are initiated and completed on schedule.
• Execute analytical methods in the lab with minimal supervision within constraints of lab scheduling.to support development/validation and feasibility/transfer.
• Perform analytical testing in accordance with SOPs and cGMP regulations.
• Maintain complete and comprehensive records for study integrity.
• Make detailed observations and documents results.
• Demonstrate consistently high levels of quality work.
• Operate and maintain lab equipment as required by SOPs and testing procedures.
• Utilize applicable computer programs during testing and routine tasks (i.e. Word, Excel, Oracle, LIMS, BRIQS, etc.).
• Utilize problem solving/ trouble shooting skills.
• Communicates deviations/ events, progress and interim results to SME.
• Inform SME/supervisor of deviations or factors that may affect quality and accuracy of data.
• Maintain a working knowledge of lab procedures and assays.
• Create/ revise protocols, reports, SOPs, laboratory records and other related documentation as assigned.
• Assist with training of laboratory personnel as needed.
• Contribute ideas and suggestions to improve standard laboratory techniques, improve protocols, processes and equipment
• Maintain strong communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.
• Comply with company health and safety regulations and procedures
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in a scientific discipline (e.g., Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, etc.) with 6+ months of scientific/laboratory experience
• OR-
• Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific discipline (e.g., Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, etc.) with 1+ years of scientific/laboratory experience
• OR-
• Associate’s Degree in a scientific discipline (e.g., Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, etc.) with 2+ years of laboratory experience
• -OR
• High school diploma or GED with 5+ years of laboratory experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to work well independently and in a team-based environment
• Experience with some or all of the following technical disciplines:
  • Liquid Chromatography
  • Mass Spectrometry
  • Capillary Electrophoresis Methods
  • Compendial assays and alternative methods
• Experience with scientific laboratory practices, techniques, equipment, materials, and mathematical calculations.
• Practical experience in analytical methods, laboratory processes, and instrumentation used for biologics analysis. Experience in scientific principles underlying analytical techniques and apply them to method development, validation, feasibility assessments, and routine testing activities.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills

Pay Range for this position: $26/hr - $40/hr

The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors. Position may be eligible for sales or performance-based bonuses. Benefits offered by the Company include health insurance, paid time off (PTO), retirement contributions, and other perquisites.
