Job Summary

Conduct laboratory work for G2M/proactive or analytical projects under the supervision of senior technical leaders. Contribute to technical project teams by providing data and lab support in G2M/proactive or analytical areas. Develop technical information to support project decisions and customer presentations, highlighting IFF product advantages.

Responsibilities:

  1. Support technical roles on strategic or G2M projects, providing input on results and findings.
  2. Manage work assignments from senior technical staff.
  3. Understand the connections between functions such as R&D, Sales, Perfumery, SDMs, etc., and interact with them to complete project tasks on time.
  4. Execute project tasks within established timelines.
  5. Develop understanding of project management processes.
  6. Design experiments and develop methods with minimal supervision.
  7. Understand experimental design principles.
  8. Participate in departmental brainstorming sessions.
  9. Apply new methodologies under supervision to validate concepts.
  10. Suggest improvements to current processes or methodologies to reduce time and cost or increase performance.
  11. Conduct formal stability studies and document findings (if required).
  12. Stay informed on industry media sources to identify future trends.
  13. Document laboratory notes clearly in knowledge management tools.
  14. Assist in writing reports and developing protocols for new applications.
  15. Become proficient in laboratory procedures and protocols.
  16. Consult with supervisors on training focus areas.
  17. Learn to conduct patent searches and review scientific literature and patents.
  18. Support competitor IP analysis by conducting experiments and summarizing results.
  19. Assist in drafting invention disclosures related to experimentation.
  20. Support collaborative projects with third parties.
  21. Develop understanding of key components in leading market products.
  22. Learn to select relevant CI tools for testing and projects.
  23. Understand consumer unmet needs in relevant categories.
  24. Create personal development plans with managers.
  25. Build a network within IFF for skill development.
  26. Utilize internal training tools for soft skills and technical knowledge enhancement.

Requirements:

Required Experience:

  • 1-2 years of experience in the food, pharmaceutical, chemical, cosmetic, consumer goods, or fragrance industries.
  • Knowledge of lab safety, raw materials, and chemical processes.

Training/Certifications:

  • Essential: BS in Science & Technology, Chemistry, or related field.
  • Preferred: MS in Science & Technology, Chemistry, or related field.

Salary Range: $85,200 - $106,500
