Job Summary

Conduct laboratory work for G2M/proactive or analytical projects under the guidance of senior technical leaders. Contribute to technical project teams by providing data and lab support in the areas of G2M/proactive or analytical testing. Develop technical information to support project decision-making and customer presentations, highlighting IFF product advantages.

Responsibilities:

  1. Support technical roles on strategic or G2M projects, providing input on results and findings.
  2. Manage work assignments from senior technical staff.
  3. Understand and interact with various functions (R&D, Sales, Perfumery, SDMs, etc.) to complete project tasks on time.
  4. Execute project tasks within established timelines.
  5. Develop understanding of project management processes.
  6. Design experiments and develop methods with minimal supervision.
  7. Apply experimental design principles.
  8. Participate in departmental brainstorming sessions.
  9. Apply new methodologies to validate concepts under supervision.
  10. Suggest improvements to current processes or methodologies to reduce time and costs or increase performance.
  11. Conduct formal stability studies, if required, following established protocols, and document results and conclusions.
  12. Stay informed about industry trends through sources like Happi, Cosmetics & Toiletries.
  13. Write clear laboratory notes and reports for knowledge management and presentations.
  14. Assist in developing new protocols for applications.
  15. Become proficient in laboratory procedures, processes, and protocols.
  16. Consult with supervisors on training focus areas.
  17. Learn to conduct patent searches and stay updated with scientific literature and patents.
  18. Support competitor IP analysis through experiments and result summaries.
  19. Assist in documenting invention disclosures related to experimentation.
  20. Support collaborative development work with third parties.
  21. Develop understanding of market benchmark components and relevant CI tools.
  22. Understand consumer unmet needs in relevant categories.
  23. Create Personal Development Plans with managers.
  24. Build a network within IFF for skill development.
  25. Utilize training tools to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements:


Required Experience:

  • 1-2 years’ experience in the industrial food, pharmaceutical, chemical, cosmetic, consumer goods, or fragrance industry.
  • Knowledge of lab safety, raw materials, and chemical processes.

Training/Certifications:

  • Essential: BS degree in Science & Technology, Chemistry, or related discipline.
  • Preferred: MS degree in Science & Technology, Chemistry, or related discipline.

Salary Range: $85,200 - $106,500
