Job summary

SoTalent is seeking an Associate Scientist to advance drug discovery programs at our Boston/Cambridge site. You will lead design and execution of studies using primary human immune cells and multi-parameter flow cytometry, delivering high-quality data to inform program decisions across development stages.

The role emphasizes development and troubleshooting of flow cytometry panels, rigorous record-keeping, and collaboration with translational research, biologics, and regulatory teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Pharmacology, or related field with 8+ years of experience, or Master with 4+ years.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the optimization and interpretation of pharmacology assays for therapeutic programs.
  • Conduct experiments involving stimulation, treatment, and phenotyping of primary human immune cells.
  • Develop and troubleshoot flow cytometry panels to investigate target engagement and mechanism of action.
  • Maintain rigorous experimental records and ensure data integrity for all study reports.
  • Collaborate with internal teams across translational research, biologics, and regulatory departments.
  • Present technical findings and scientific summaries to project stakeholders.
  • Identify and solve technical hurdles to keep research timelines on track.

Job description

I am currently seeking an experienced Associate Scientist to join a leading global pharmaceutical organization at their research site in the Boston and Cambridge area. This role focuses on advancing drug discovery programs through expert in vitro pharmacology and the development of complex assays.

The successful candidate will lead the design and execution of studies utilizing primary human immune cells. You will be responsible for generating high quality data that directly informs program decisions and supports various stages of drug development. A significant portion of this role involves multi parameter flow cytometry, primary cell culture, and functional immune assays.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct the optimization and interpretation of pharmacology assays for therapeutic programs.
  • Conduct experiments involving the stimulation, treatment, and phenotyping of primary human immune cells.
  • Develop and troubleshoot flow cytometry panels to investigate target engagement and mechanism of action.

Requirements
  • A Bachelor degree in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Pharmacology, or a related field with at least 8 years of professional experience, or a Master degree with 4 or more years of experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in working with primary human immune cells.
  • Advanced proficiency in flow cytometry, including panel design, compensation, and complex data analysis.
  • Proven ability to produce reproducible pharmacology data in a laboratory setting.
  • Strong communication skills for drafting technical reports and presenting data.
  • Prior experience in development stage studies or antibody based therapeutics is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with assays for cytokine release, cell proliferation, and receptor occupancy.
