About the Role

The Associate Sales Solution Engineer is responsible for providing technical and industry expertise to the Sales team and customers throughout the pre‑sales process. This role collaborates closely with sales solution engineers and cross‑functional teams to understand customer needs, support solution demonstrations, and contribute to a seamless and compelling pre‑sales experience.

This is a role for someone who is curious, driven, and eager to grow — bringing a passion for technology and a collaborative spirit to every customer engagement.

Your Role Responsibilities? Here's What You'll Do.
  • Provide assistance to other sales solution engineers on standard customer engagements — participating in customer pre‑sales meetings to determine technical requirements and identifying and locating standard demonstration materials to be presented to clients.
  • Assist with the presentation of proposed solutions to key customer stakeholders — supporting validation and buy‑in for the recommended approach while ensuring the demonstration aligns with the customer's technical needs and business objectives.
  • Participate in meetings with global services to ensure effective knowledge transfer — composing internal documentation that fully reflects all activity related to the solution strategy.
  • Provide technical responses for Request for Proposals (RFPs) — growing knowledge and staying aware of best practices and market trends to deliver accurate, competitive, and compelling responses.
  • Participate in trade shows, conferences, and events — representing Hyland in the marketplace and contributing to the team's collective knowledge through continuous learning and professional development.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with sales, services, and technical teams — supporting a seamless pre‑sales process and contributing to a positive customer experience from initial engagement through solution validation.
Role Essentials
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Management Information Systems or Computer Science — or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the principal duties of the role.
  • Solid collaboration skills applied successfully within a team as well as with other areas — with a demonstrated ability to establish rapport and gain the trust of others, effective at gaining consensus.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and use engaging, informative, and compelling presentation methodologies — with the ability to speak or write with ease, clarity, and impact using a communication style appropriate to the subject and audience.
  • Self‑directed with the ability to manage projects to completion — with the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment and up to 10% travel time required.
  • Demonstrated passion for technology, emerging trends, and continuous learning — with a particular interest in AI and a natural curiosity that drives exploration, innovation, and problem‑solving.
What We'd Like to See
  • Driven to learn and stay current professionally — with a demonstrated commitment to growing expertise in enterprise software, pre‑sales methodologies, and industry best practices.
  • Experience or coursework in enterprise software, content management, or business process automation — providing a foundation for understanding customer business challenges and recommending effective solutions.
  • Familiarity with RFP processes and technical writing — with the ability to compose clear, accurate, and compelling technical documentation and proposal responses.
  • Experience participating in or supporting trade shows, conferences, or industry events — with a professional presence and the ability to represent the organization effectively in public‑facading settings.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and adaptability — with the ability to quickly learn new technologies, platforms, and solution frameworks and apply them in a fast‑paced, customer‑facing environment.
