Job summary

Parsons in Indianapolis is seeking a Civil Engineer to perform transportation engineering tasks, including roadway alignment, 3D modeling, estimating, and plan production. You will interface with CAD designers and other engineers, contributing to nationwide projects and producing standard engineering documents. A 4-year degree and CAD knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) required.
• 0+ years or more of related work experience.
• Requires basic process engineering knowledge and CAD proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze horizontal & vertical alignment, 3D roadway modeling, and estimates.
• Prepare plans, specifications, and construction documents using CAE/CAD as applicable.
• Coordinate with CAD designers, engineers, and clients on projects.
• Produce technical reports, material takeoffs, and quantity calculations.
• Assist in bid analyses and supplier drawing reviews.
• Contribute to pavement design, traffic engineering, and construction staging plans.

What You'll Be Doing

• Work will include horizontal & vertical alignment design, roadway 3D modeling, estimating, quantity calculations, technical reports, plan production, and detailed engineering analysis.
• Other duties may include pavement design, traffic engineering, construction staging plans, signing and lighting. Candidate will interface with CAD designers, other engineers and clients.
• The successful candidate will gain great experience in transportation engineering across the nation.
• Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes, utilizing CAE/CAD as applicable.
• Prepares standard engineering computations, material quality takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
• Reviews supplier drawing submittals and assists in performing technical bid analyses.
• Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
• Provides input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and junior-level Engineers.
• Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

What Required Skills You'll Bring

• 4-year degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)
• 0+ years or more of related work experience.
• Requires basic process engineering knowledge, as well as a working knowledge of CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering

What Desired Skills You'll Bring

• Prior internship experience working is a plus
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate is preferred.
• Familiarity with the following design software is also a plus: Microstation, OpenRoads, and Civil3D.

Salary Range: $26.59 - $46.54
