Job summary

Parsons is seeking an entry level Associate Roadway Engineer in Florida to support design and analysis of roadways and TTCP plans under licensed engineers. The role includes developing 3D roadway models, preparing reports, and coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders.

You will be part of a dynamic team focused on delivering expressway and arterial projects, advancing your skills in civil transportation design, and contributing to multiple tasks with guided supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and prepare roadway and TTCP designs, calculations, and drawings for Expressway/Limited-Access facilities and Arterial/Local roads.
• Develop 3D models of roadways using Corridor Modeling in GEOPAK and/or Open Roads.
• Propose innovative solutions to design problems.
• Prepare engineering reports and contract documents for review by a licensed engineer.
• May track and provide initial review tasks of technicians or designers.
• Responsible for managing timely completion of multiple assigned tasks.
• Communicate effectively with team members and internal design groups; external communication as required.
• Effectively present proposed design solutions in internal project meetings; may attend/present with external parties.
• Adhere to marketing requirements by providing resume updates and participating in marketing campaigns.
• Ensure timely completion of time sheets and expense reports.
• Take ownership of personal career development by seeking/receiving feedback and pursuing new skills.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Working under the supervision of a licensed engineer, analyze and prepare roadway and Temporary Traffic Control Plans (TTCP) designs, calculations and drawings for Expressway/Limited-Access facilities and Arterial/Local roads using DOT and/or local jurisdiction criteria

• Develop 3D Models of roadways, using Corridor Modeling in GEOPAK and/or Open Roads

• Approach tasks with an open mindset; propose innovative solutions to design problems

• Prepare engineering reports and contract documents for review by a licensed engineer

• May track and provide initial review tasks of technicians or designers

• Responsible for managing timely completion of multiple assigned tasks

• Communicate effectively with team members and internal design groups; external communication as required on assigned tasks

• Effectively present proposed design solutions as part of internal project meetings; may attend and contribute to presentations with external parties

• Adhere to company marketing requirements by providing timely resume updates and participating in marketing campaigns

• Ensure timely completion of time sheets and expense reports

• Take ownership of personal career development by seeking and providing feedback, seizing opportunities to develop new skills, and setting and pursuing personal goals
