Job summary

Columbia University seeks an Associate Research Scientist to join a multidisciplinary program studying neurodegenerative diseases using genomics, RNA/protein biochemistry, and neuroscience in cellular and animal models.

The candidate will perform wet-lab work with animal models and microglia cultures, contribute to NIH-funded projects, and collaborate with the PI, postdocs, and graduate students to advance memory and plasticity research.

Qualifications

• PhD or MD required.
• 2–3 years of postdoctoral research experience.
• Experience with in vivo and in vitro techniques and innate immunity, tau and amyloid pathology is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Participate in NIH-funded projects aimed at understanding neurodegenerative diseases.
• Carry out experimental work on research projects, independently or with others.
• Collaborate with postdoctoral researchers and graduate students and liaise with the PI.
