Job Summary

The Division of Metabolism, Endocrinology and Diabetes has an opening position of Associate Research Scientist for candidates with M.D. and/or Ph.D. degree.

Responsibilities*

The Associate Research Scientist will be expected to participate in preparation of manuscripts, presentation of work at national/international meetings, and grant submissions. She/he should therefore have an outstanding track record of productivity and a level of motivation required for successful independent biomedical research. This role will focus on understanding the role of nitric oxide and chemokines in the progression of prostate cancer bone metastasis, using in vitro and in vivo models.

Required Qualifications*

M.D. or Ph.D. required. Candidates should have strong self motivation, solid basic science training background, experience with hypothesis-driven research, good written and oral scientific communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and in a multidisciplinary team-oriented environment. Record of peer-reviewed publications in relevant scientific journals. Knowledge of adrenal gland biology, adrenal pathology, steroidogenesis, and cell differentiation/proliferation would be highly desirable.
