Job summary

Weber Gallagher Simpson Stapleton Fires and Newby is seeking an Associate Attorney for our Commercial Transportation/Litigation practice. This remote-from-PA role allows you to work from anywhere with an office, collaborating with senior attorneys on determining third-party responsibility in trucking and transportation matters.

The ideal candidate has 2–7 years of litigation experience, a J.D. from an accredited law school, and PA/NJ bar admission (NY or CT a plus).

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse caseload from inception through resolution.
• Draft and argue dispositive motions and trial briefs; oversee discovery and expert witnesses.
• Represent clients in mediations, arbitrations, depositions, hearings and trials.
• Prepare and file lawsuits to recover funds from responsible third parties.
• Provide regular updates to clients on case status and potential outcomes.
• Collaborate with adjusters and outside counsel to pursue recoveries efficiently.
• Stay current on changes in the law and travel for court or meetings as needed.

Associate Attorney – Commercial Transportation/Litigation - Remote from PA (or anywhere we have an office)

Job Description

Weber Gallagher has an immediate opening for an Associate for our Commercial Transportation Practice Group. The candidate will have the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere we have an office. The Associate will work closely with our senior attorneys, gaining hands-on experience in determining third-party responsibility for various matters including commercial trucking and transportation.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse caseload from inception through resolution.
• Conduct case evaluations, develop litigation strategy, and advise clients on risk assessment and potential exposure.
• Draft and argue dispositive motions, prepare trial briefs, oversee discovery, including expert witness preparation.
• Support the preparation and filing of lawsuits to recover funds from responsible third parties.
• Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to develop sound case strategies.
• Represent clients in mediations, arbitrations, depositions, hearings and trials.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing regular and timely updates to clients on case status, strategy, and potential outcomes.
• Collaborate with adjusters, recovery specialists, and outside counsel to pursue recoveries efficiently.
• Stay current on changes in the law.
• Ability to travel for court, client meetings, etc.

Requirements

• 2-7 years of litigation experience, preferably in the commercial transportation/trucking industry.
• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active and good standing PA and NJ bar license required; NY or CT Bar license a plus.
• Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
