Weber Gallagher Simpson Stapleton Fires and Newby in Pennsylvania is seeking an Associate for our Commercial Transportation/Litigation group, with the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere in Pennsylvania. The Associate will work closely with our senior attorneys, gaining hands-on experience in determining third-party responsibility for various matters including commercial trucking and transportation.

Qualifications

• 3-7 years of litigation experience, preferably in the commercial transportation/trucking industry.
• Active and good standing PA bar license; NY Bar license a plus.
• Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse caseload from inception through resolution.
• Conduct case evaluations, develop litigation strategy, and advise clients on risk assessment and potential exposure.
• Draft and argue dispositive motions, prepare trial briefs, oversee discovery, including expert witness preparation.
• Support the preparation and filing of lawsuits to recover funds from responsible third parties.
• Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to develop sound case strategies.
• Represent clients in mediations, arbitrations, depositions, hearings and trials.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing regular and timely updates to clients on case status, strategy, and potential outcomes.
• Collaborate with adjusters, recovery specialists, and outside counsel to pursue recoveries efficiently.
• Stay current on changes in the law.
• Ability to travel for court, client meetings, etc.
