Job summary

Weber Gallagher Simpson Stapleton Fires and Newby is seeking an Associate for its Commercial Transportation Practice Group. The position offers remote work from anywhere in Pennsylvania and close collaboration with senior attorneys on determining third-party responsibility in trucking matters.

The ideal candidate has 3-7 years of litigation experience, a J.D. from an accredited law school, and an active PA bar license (NY bar a plus).

Qualifications

• 3-7 years of litigation experience in commercial transportation/trucking preferred.
• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active and good standing PA bar license; NY bar a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse caseload from inception through resolution.
• Conduct case evaluations, develop litigation strategy, and advise clients on risk assessment and exposure.
• Draft and argue dispositive motions, prepare trial briefs, oversee discovery including expert witness preparation.
• Support the preparation and filing of lawsuits to recover funds from responsible third parties.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to develop sound case strategies.
• Represent clients in mediations, arbitrations, depositions, hearings and trials.
• Build and maintain client relationships with regular updates on status and outcomes.
• Collaborate with adjusters, recovery specialists, and outside counsel to pursue recoveries.
