Position Summary

San Diego State University’s Office of the Registrar is looking for an Associate Registrar, Evaluations and Academic Scheduling to manage, supervise, and coordinate the staff within the Academic Scheduling, Evaluations, and Degree Audit units. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage, supervise, and coordinate staff within the Academic Scheduling, Evaluations, and Degree Audit units.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and CSU regulations through continuous staff training and development.
  • Implement strategies to enhance employee satisfaction, motivation, and support employee growth and engagement.
  • Promote open communication, collaboration, and a sense of belonging within the team.
  • Evaluate team culture to identify and address barriers to progress.
  • Serve as an office and campus resource, delivering information efficiently and supportively.
  • Oversee graduation evaluation, evaluation of continuing student records, and timely identification of un-articulated transfer courses.
  • Utilize data-driven strategic interventions to support timely student admission and graduation processing.
  • Act as the primary liaison for the Office of the Registrar to Curriculum, Assessment, and Accreditation, as well as academic colleges and departments.
  • Collaborate with department leadership and campus IT to propose, develop, and test technical application enhancements.

Position Information

  • This is a full-time, at-will role, offering comprehensive benefits.
  • Position is designated exempt under FLSA and is not eligible for overtime compensation.
  • Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.
  • The individual hired into this role will work on campus at SDSU in San Diego.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training and applied experience.
  • Minimum of three years progressive management or lead experience within a registrar’s office or other related office (e.g. advising or evaluations).

Key Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in the evaluation of student records.
  • Knowledge of Title 5, California Code of Regulations and CSU Executive Orders.
  • Professional experience in a higher education institution or public agencies.
  • Experience working with a degree audit system.

The expected hiring salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $91,272 annually.
