Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Overview

POSITION TITLE: Associate Regional Director

REPORTS TO: Deputy Director

SUPERVISION EXERCISED: May directly supervise interns, part-time staff, or consultants.

LOCATION: Boca Raton or Miami, Florida

GRADE/CLASS: Grade F, Exempt, PSA-eligible

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Assist the Regional Director and Regional Operations team in planning, developing, and implementing initiatives, program activities, and services in the community to advance ADL’s mission within the assigned region. Focus specifically on public policy, leadership engagement advocacy, and law enforcement relations.

Responsibilities

Primary:

  • Collaborate with regional operations team to build community relationships with Jewish and non-Jewish partner organizations and leaders to facilitate effective community action.
  • Lead volunteer leader committees, including the Advocacy and Engagement Committee.
  • Receive and conduct investigation of complaints of discrimination, antisemitic incidents, and other issues. Conduct routine fact-finding research, using established contacts and developing sources as appropriate. Maintain required records.
  • Coordinate communications (social media, website, email invitations, etc.) related to programs or initiatives under the assigned portfolio. Create related marketing materials.
  • Take an active role in implementing ADL Florida's Strategic Plan with respect to programming, advocacy, engagement, and law enforcement outreach. Help extend ADL presence and influence across the state.
  • Attend and represent ADL at community events to promote public awareness of ADL’s mission.
  • Participate in regional development and young leadership events, support legislative agenda, and represent the region at ADL national committees, programs, or initiatives, where appropriate.
  • Act as lead contact with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies in Florida.
  • Cultivate relationships with law enforcement officials and leaders, connect with them related to antisemitic incidents and hate crimes, coordinate training opportunities, hold quarterly meetings for law enforcement, and organize and lead regional Law Enforcement Awards webinar and related activities.
  • Liaise with Jewish community security leads.

Secondary:

  • May assist in budget preparation and general office management.

Work Experience:

  • The ideal candidate has multiple years’ experience working in Jewish community relations, advocacy, law enforcement, or public affairs.

Work Environment:

  • ADL is a hybrid environment; this role will require 3 days in the office.

Compensation:

  • This position has a salary range of $65,000 to $70,000. This salary range is reflective of a position based in Boca Raton, Florida. Please note that actual salaries are commensurate with experience and reflect the budget for a given position, and since ADL has a location-based compensation structure, there may be a different range for candidates in other locations.
