Job summary

Motiva, headquartered in Houston, TX, is seeking an Associate Process Engineer for its Port Arthur Manufacturing Complex. The role focuses on designing, optimizing, and maintaining refinery processes to ensure safe, reliable operation and cost control.

You will monitor data, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with business teams to ensure product plan delivery. Required is a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering by Dec 2026 with a 3.0+ GPA and strong analytical, organizational, and communication

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering required by December 2026.
GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Excellent organizational and planning skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Effective teamwork in cross-functional situations.

Responsibilities

Provide daily proactive technical monitoring and troubleshooting for assigned areas.
Guide daily unit optimization related to product yields, quality, catalyst life, and energy use.
Routinely conduct and document unit mass balance monitoring.
Use causal learning for problem solving and participate in investigations.
Lead/process safety activities including MOC and PHA.
Identify margin and energy opportunities and drive changes via established processes.
Support TA planning and execution to ensure reliability and TA objectives.
Support capital projects for proper implementation and performance.
Provide monthly technical assurance reporting to stakeholders.
Provide off-hour shift coverage for planned/unplanned shutdowns.
