Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking an Associate or Engineer to join the Safety & Mission Assurance team at locations in Promontory, Clearfield, Salt Lake City, or Magna, UT. Roles focus on quality policies, process controls, and flight hardware inspection to ensure conformity with AS9100 and governmental requirements.

Both Associate and Engineer levels require degrees in mechanical, chemical, or aerospace engineering, plus eligibility for a U.S. government clearance.

Qualifications

• Be completing or has completed their Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Be majoring in or having majored in Mechanical, Chemical, or Aerospace Engineering (other technical degrees may be considered).
• Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite).
• Proven technical aptitude and ability to problem solve complex technical issues.
• Proven ability to multi-task (i.e. manage several projects at one time).
• Excellent Communication Skills (both written and verbal).
• Be completing or has completed their Master's degree from an accredited institution.
• Be majoring in or having majored in Chemical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering (other technical degrees may be considered).
• Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite).
• Proven technical aptitude and ability to problem solve complex technical issues.
• Proven ability to multi-task (i.e. manage several projects at one time).
• Excellent Communication Skills (both written and verbal).
• Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.0 or higher.
• Experience working with energetic materials and processes.
• Experience writing shop planning.
• Interpreting blue prints and specifications.
• Experience in Lean Manufacturing Techniques
• Process Controls (SPC)

Responsabilités

• Develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product.
• Collaborate with design engineering, process engineering, and operations to ensure quality standards are in place.
• Devise and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.
• Design and analyze inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducting quality assurance tests; and performing statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
• Audit quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.
• Ensure that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards, and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
• May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.
• May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies.
• Work with test data and ensure proper Quality standards are in place to process hardware.
• Collaborate with Engineering team for engineering development.
• Develop corrective action plans for software and hardware processing through plant.
• Investigate failures internally to identify root cause on flight hardware.
• Work with technicians to develop root cause findings on flight hardware.
• Have the ability to implement Kaizan strategies to reduce defect count on manufacturing floor.
