Job summary

Moog Military Aircraft LLC is seeking an Associate Quality Engineer to plan and execute cost‑effective quality processes ensuring contractual quality requirements are met and protection for Moog and its customers is provided. The role reports to the Manager, QA Engrg.

and is based onsite in East Aurora, NY with a first shift. Responsibilities include supporting audits, root cause analysis, data collection, and cross‑functional collaboration with Quality, Design, PM, and manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 1–2+ years of applicable experience, which may include co‑ops, internships, technical project work, or other hands‑on engineering exposure.
  • OR an Associate’s Degree in a technical or quality discipline, with approximately 2-3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and apply core engineering fundamentals (e.g., basic GD&T, manufacturing/process basics).
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills with a collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

  • As an Associate Quality Engineer, you will:
  • Most importantly, you’ll be relied upon to have integrity, and as someone who won’t be afraid to stand up and say “STOP – we have a problem we that need to address right away.”

  • Act as the Moog liaison and representative to support Government (DCMA) and Customer programs, audits and requirements.
  • Execute defined engineering tasks under moderate guidance.
  • Review and approval of work instructions, test/assembly documentation, or basic engineering analyses.
  • Supports build, test, inspection, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Performs data collection, simple root‑cause analysis, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with technicians and cross‑functional teams (Quality, Design, PM, etc.).
  • Support production by conducting QE studies, recommending design changes, and providing quality support to manufacturing personnel.
  • Facilitate cross functional teams through problem solving activities.
  • These activities will include failure analysis, root cause and corrective action analysis, risk mitigation, material review, customer & governmental interface, audit support configuration control, and traceability.
  • Develop Quality plans for receiving inspection, manufacturing operations, assembly & test processes, and final inspection.
  • Work directly with customers and suppliers to identify root cause and corrective actions on complex issues.
  • Reduce inspection costs and prevent failure‑related expenses through statistical analysis and problem‑solving.
  • Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills and team building qualities.
  • Be self‑motivated and follow through on assignments with limited supervision.
  • Be able to work on several assignments and programs concurrently.

Moog’s Military Aircraft Group is in search of an Associate Quality Engineer to plan and execute cost-effective quality processes to assure that we will meet or exceed contractual quality requirements and provide the required level of protection to Moog and its Customers. In this role, you will have a measurable impact on our business performance by promoting the highest standards of quality.

Given the complexity of the hardware we produce, we’re looking for someone who understands its critical nature.

You will report to a Program QE Manager and this role offers a First Shift, On‑Site schedule at our East Aurora, NY location.

Salary Range Transparency

Buffalo, NY $70,000.00–$90,000.00 Annually

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
