The Opportunity

This role is within our Barceloneta, PR location, in the Vascular Division, which provides innovative devices for vascular disease treatment. The Associate Quality Engineer will support manufacturing processes to ensure high-quality products, collaborating with supervisors, engineers, and team members to address quality issues and act as the primary quality representative for the area.

What You’ll Do

1. Ensure compliance with corporate and divisional policies and procedures.
2. Identify manufacturing process defects, assist in root cause analysis, and help implement corrective actions.
3. Work with support teams to manage non-conformance issues and initiate exception management processes.
4. Assist in defining product release criteria and evaluate lot yields and rework processes.
5. Contribute to the development of quality plans, specifications, and risk analyses.
6. Learn and utilize process monitoring systems and quality tools.
7. Support product and process improvements through data analysis and problem-solving.
8. Support change management initiatives and assist in validation studies as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• 0-2 years of relevant experience or equivalent education and experience.
• Proficiency in English and Spanish (speaking, listening, reading, writing).
• Basic digital skills, including Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications

• Former co-op students at Abbott are preferred.
