Job summary

Amgen is seeking a highly motivated Associate in Protein Chemistry-Purification to join the Protein Therapeutics team in Thousand Oaks, CA. You will be responsible for purification of large-molecule drug candidates and support analytics during development.

The role requires collaboration with project and analytics teams to advance the pipeline, with a focus on delivering high-quality purification and characterization data to drive candidate selection.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in life sciences required.
  • Associate degree with 4+ years of relevant scientific experience accepted.
  • High school diploma with 6+ years of protein purification/analytics experience accepted.

Responsibilities

  • Purify novel and complex molecules for next-generation therapeutics.
  • Contribute to purification and analytics capabilities.
  • Organize, analyze and report findings to support lead candidate selection.

What You Will Do

Amgenisseekingahighly motivated Associateto join the Protein Therapeutics(PT)Protein Chemistry team.PT is a multidisciplinary team with broad capabilities in protein engineering, expression, purification, and characterization.Weareresponsible forthe engineering, production, assessment, and finalselectionof large molecule drug candidates that advance to Process Development.

In this role, you will supportthepurificationoflargemolecule, therapeutic drug candidates, many of which are complex biologics.

Responsibilities
  • Purifying novel and complex molecules that will be the next generation of large molecule therapeutics.
  • Contributing to theexecutionof ourprotein purification and analyticscapabilities.
  • Organizing, analyzing, and reportingfindingsto support lead candidateselection.
  • Partnering with Project, Analytics and Automation teams to advance our pipeline.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelors degree inlife sciences.

OR

Associatesdegree and4years of relevant scientific experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 6 years of protein purification, and/or protein analytics experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstratedstrong communicationskills,ability to multi-task and work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Demonstratedtrack recordof independent critical thinking and creative problem-solving.
  • Experiencewithprotein purification, chromatography resins,instrumentation,andsoftware.
  • Familiarity with protein analytics fundamentals and techniques.
  • Familiarity with handlingand analyzinglarge datasets.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
