Job summary

Schindler Elevator Corporation (U.S.) is seeking an Associate Project Manager for New Installation in Miami. You will collaborate with the Project Manager, Superintenden t, and Territory Project Operations Manager to plan, bid, and execute projects per customer specs and company standards.

You will assist with submittals, close-outs, and coordinating with the Service Department to ensure smooth turnover and on-time completion. A background in construction and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent in relevant work experience.
  • 2+ years of professional experience in project management or related field.
  • Strong MS Office skills and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to analyze, plan, and execute project activities per customer specs.
  • Assist with construction project close-out and post award activities.
  • Prepare and review submittal packages and coordinate with vendors and customers.
  • Monitor project financial performance and changes in SAP; ensure invoicing accuracy.
  • Support permits, payroll, compliance, and related administrative tasks.

Associate Project Manager - New Installation

Your Main Responsibilities

As an Associate Project Manager, you will collaborate with the Project Manager, NI Superintendet or Territory Project Operations Manager to analyze, plan, and execute project activities per customer and Company specifications. This role supports project bidding and ensures detailed follow-through to completion.

Project Support, Submittals & Close-Outs
  • Assist with construction projects, post contract execution to ensure timely and budget-compliant close-out. Review and book projects within one week of award, alerting the Manager of any potential completion date risks and providing action plans.
  • Support the Superintendent and engineering to resolve technical tasks, ensuring adherence to fulfillment+ protocols
  • Prepare and send submittal packages to customers, review returned submittals, and provide necessary communication to Project Manager
  • Support with submitting closeout documents to the customer and coordinating project turnover to the Service Department.
Financial & Change Order Support
  • Facilitate with project scope, prepare change order paperwork, and track changes in SAP to ensure proper documentation.
  • Monitor job financial performance, track invoice collections, bad debt and process progress payments.
  • Ensure projects are invoiced and achieve targeted payment before elevator turnover.
Payroll, Permits & Compliance
  • Prepare and submit certified payroll, including tracking worker hours, wages, and fringe benefits in accordance with prevailing wage laws
  • Coordinate the delivery of approved submittals and materials from vendors to ensure readiness before project start.
  • Submit required permits or certificates as mandated by local codes or authorities; prepare M/W/DBE paperwork
  • Order and provide insurance certificates to customers, as needed
Quality, Safety & Manpower
  • Ensure compliance with customer and Schindler requirements for quality, performance, and passenger safety.
  • Influence installation scheduling and manpower to meet budget commitments.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent in relevant work experience
  • 2+ years of professional experience, preferably in a related industry
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders
