Base pay range

$50,050.00/yr - $90,475.00/yr

Description

This position has remote working capabilities, but candidates should be based in or around the greater St. Louis, MO metro area, as some local and regional travel is expected. This allows Leidos to best serve our utility customers.

Leidos Engineering has an opportunity for an Associate Project Manager who will work alongside project managers, lead engineers, and account managers supporting various electric utility clients. The role involves providing project management services related to transmission line engineering projects throughout the Midwestern and Northeastern United States. The Associate Project Manager will be part of an established Project Management Office within our Power Delivery Solutions division, which offers consulting services to electric utilities for electrical transmission, substation, and distribution projects nationwide.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Assist project managers in managing transmission line design projects for electric utilities
  • Manage overall project performance and reporting
  • Ensure project costs, schedules, and scope are controlled, developing recovery plans as needed
  • Communicate with clients, project teams, engineering disciplines, and support personnel
  • Create and maintain resource-loaded schedules
  • Coordinate with Engineering Leads on client deliverables
  • Assist in preparing bid documents, cost estimates, and RFP responses
  • Complete monthly client invoicing, accruals, and accounts receivable
Qualifications
  • 1+ year experience in project management or coordination
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Finance, or related field
  • Ability to plan, organize, and track technical efforts
  • Experience with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with customer representatives
  • Must be able to work out of the Walled Lake, MI office on a hybrid basis (minimum 3 days/week in office)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of the electric power industry and business issues in power delivery
  • Interest in obtaining PMP certification
  • Experience with project management software (e.g., Workfront, MS Project, P6)
  • Previous exposure to US electric utilities and electrical/construction projects
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial management tools
