Ideal candidates have 2–4 years of experience in project coordination, a foundational PM skillset, and a bachelor’s degree in a related field. The role is remote with opportunities to develop PM capabilities in a client-focused environment.

SCOPE

The Associate Project Manager is a developing project management professional who supports the planning, coordination, execution, and delivery of AspireHR client projects. This role provides an opportunity to build project management experience through hands‑on assignments, coaching, and collaboration with experienced Project Managers, Senior Project Managers, and PMO leadership.

The Associate Project Manager may manage smaller or single‑module client engagements with appropriate oversight from a Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, or PMO Practice Lead. On larger or more complex implementations, the Associate Project Manager works with an assigned Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to manage defined project activities or workstreams and support overall project delivery.

RESPONSIBILITIES

May include project planning, schedule management, governance, status reporting, financial tracking, scope and change management, risk and issue management, resource coordination, stakeholder communication, project documentation, and management of project milestones, dependencies, actions, decisions, and deliverables.

The Associate Project Manager works collaboratively with clients, project team members, and functional and technical resources to coordinate project activities, maintain visibility into project progress, communicate status, and identify and report potential project impacts.

Functional and technical resources are responsible for the analysis, design, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and resolution of solutions and deliverables within their respective areas of expertise.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage smaller or single-module client projects with appropriate oversight or manage defined project activities or workstreams within larger or more complex engagements under the direction of a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage project plans, schedules, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables within assigned responsibilities.
  • Monitor project scope, schedule, budget, resources, and progress within assigned responsibilities; identify variances and elevate concerns requiring additional support or authority.
  • Maintain and manage project risks, issues, actions, and decisions within the assigned engagement, escalating significant project impacts as appropriate.
  • Coordinate project resources and activities across workstreams to support alignment with project plans, priorities, dependencies, and milestones.
  • Lead routine project meetings and governance activities for assigned engagements and support governance activities on larger projects, including kickoffs, status meetings, agendas, reporting, decisions, action items, and follow-up.
  • Maintain clear and timely communication with clients, project teams, and internal stakeholders regarding project status, priorities, risks, issues, decisions, and upcoming activities.
  • Maintain project financial information, including project hours, budget, and forecasts; monitor performance and elevate potential variances or concerns.
  • Support scope and change management by identifying and documenting potential changes, assessing project impacts with the appropriate project resources, and coordinating review and approval.
  • Maintain accurate and current project documentation and project management artifacts throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify project dependencies, constraints, and potential delivery impacts and coordinate appropriate follow-up and escalation.
  • Build effective working relationships with clients, project team members, and internal stakeholders to support collaboration and successful project delivery.
  • Support project transition, lessons learned, and closeout activities.
  • Continue developing project management capabilities through coaching, feedback, and progressively more complex project assignments.

Requirements
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
  • Bachelor's degree in business, project management, technology, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant professional experience.
  • Approximately 2–4 years of experience in project coordination, project management, consulting, professional services, technology implementation, or a related environment preferred.
  • Foundational knowledge of project management principles, project lifecycle activities, and project governance.
  • Experience supporting or managing project schedules, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, actions, deliverables, and status reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage defined project responsibilities and priorities with appropriate guidance and oversight.
  • Ability to organize and coordinate multiple activities, deadlines, resources, and stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally and concisely with clients, project teams, and leadership.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate project information and documentation.
  • Ability to identify potential project risks, issues, delays, resource constraints, and conflicting priorities and appropriately communicate and elevate concerns.
  • Foundational understanding of project scope, schedule, budget, resource, risk, and change-management concepts.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, make routine decisions within assigned responsibilities, and recognize when additional guidance or escalation is appropriate.
  • Ability to work independently within defined responsibilities while collaborating effectively as part of a larger project team.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with project management, resource management, collaboration, or reporting tools is preferred.
  • Experience supporting technology implementations, SaaS projects, HR technology, SAP, or SAP SuccessFactors projects is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote, client-facing, deadline-driven consulting environment.
  • Demonstrated interest in developing toward progressively greater project management responsibility.
