Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated is seeking an Associate Project Manager in Menlo Park, CA. You will support the project manager across development, budgeting, scheduling and quality control while engaging stakeholders and vendors.

Strong communication and organizational skills are required to keep projects on track from initiation through completion. You will work with teams across disciplines, apply project management software and AI tools, and help deliver successful real estate development

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in project management or related roles in real estate or similar industries.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with multitasking ability.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder relationships.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools; familiarity with AI tools.
  • Experience in managing small to medium-scale projects from initiation to completion.
  • Knowledge of building/construction practices and real estate industry best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate projects by supporting the project manager across development and execution.
  • Monitor budgets, schedules, and quality control for project fidelity.
  • Engage clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure clear communication.
  • Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies for project success.
  • Review, negotiate, and manage contracts with vendors and suppliers.
  • Maintain project documentation, plans, status reports and minutes.
  • Support the team with meetings, presentations, and project-related tasks.

What your day-to-day will look like
  • Project coordination: Assist the project manager in overseeing all aspects of project development and execution, including budget management, schedule adherence, and quality control.
  • Financial management: Monitor project financial performance, track expenses, and maintain accurate project budget records.
  • Stakeholder management: Engage with clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Risk assessment: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
  • Contract administration: Support in reviewing, negotiating, and administering contracts with vendors and suppliers.
  • Project documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and meeting minutes.
  • Team support: Provide support to the project team by coordinating meetings, preparing presentations, and assisting with project-related tasks.
Required qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in project management or related roles within the real estate or similar industries.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Familiarity with AI tools and systems.
  • Experience in managing small to medium-scale projects from initiation through completion.
  • Knowledge of building and construction practices.
  • Knowledge of real estate industry best practices and construction processes.
Preferred qualifications
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience working with commercial real estate clients.
  • Familiarity with sustainability and energy-efficiency practices in the built environment.
  • Ability to travel for project-related meetings and site visits when required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Estimated compensation for this position: 82,365.00 – 111,435.00 USD per year. This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
