Job summary

Irex Services seeks an Associate Project Manager for a hands-on training program across office and field sites in the assigned territory. You will learn estimating, proposals, contracts and project management as you progress toward roles of Assistant and then Project Manager.

Travel within the territory is required as you develop skills to manage projects, schedules, costs, and customer relationships with leaders in the specialty contracting industry.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Learn best practices in environmental health and safety to prevent incidents and ensure compliance.
• Provide outstanding customer service that secures a pipeline of repeat business.
• Interpret specifications and perform material take-offs from construction drawings.
• Prepare cost estimates utilizing estimating software or field take-offs.
• Plan and coordinate with the field workforce for successful project execution.
• Manage project schedules, labor productivity, material costs, and margins.
• Develop relationships with customers, vendors, and other industry contracts.
• Utilize industry-leading software tools such as Navisworks, Bluebeam, JD Edwards, Salesforce, Velocity EHS and others

Position Title: Associate Project Manager

Reports to: General Manager

Position Summary:

The Associate Project Manager works directly with leaders in the specialty contracting industry to gain knowledge through a “hands-on” training program that combines work in the office, at job sites, at client offices, and at other locations throughout the assigned territory. The goal of our Associate program is to help new employees develop the skills they need to become successful Project Managers with their own customers and projects to manage.

The successful Associate Project Manager will learn the role of an Project Manager, which includes a diverse range of responsibilities, from estimating and proposal development to contract sales and project management. A typical day may include preparing estimates and proposals in the morning, taking a customer out to lunch, and then visiting project sites in the afternoon to review construction progress and troubleshoot any issues.

Associate Project Managers progress to the role of Assistant Project Manager as their skills develop. Assistant Project Managers must demonstrate a command of their new skills as well as achieving budgetary and revenue goals to be promoted to Project Manager.
