Job summary

Tapio, a private equity-backed renewable energy platform in the U.S., seeks a Tax Equity Associate or Senior Associate to support structuring, modeling, and execution of tax equity investments in solar and storage projects. Reporting to Head of Finance, you will help optimize capital structures and coordinate with investors through closing.

The role requires 3+ years experience in tax equity financing, strong modeling and communication with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in tax equity financing, ideally within renewable energy or infrastructure.
• Experience with tax equity modeling, deal structuring, and credit mechanisms.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Engineering; CPA/CFA/MBA preferred.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication with senior stakeholders and investors.
• Culture of collaboration, entrepreneurship, and fast-paced execution.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage complex financial models for tax equity financing of solar and storage projects.
• Structure deals to optimize tax credit utilization (ITC, PTC), including partnership flips and direct transfers.
• Lead diligence with internal teams, consultants, and legal counsel.
• Interface with tax equity investors on negotiation, documentation, and closing.
• Support M&A evaluations related to project acquisitions and divestitures.
• Prepare materials for internal stakeholders including executive leadership and investment committee.
