Job Location/Schedule

This position offers a hybrid work environment (typically 2-3 days per week onsite) at our Display, Processing, and Networking Center of Excellence in Johnstown, PA. Relocation assistance may be available.

Job Summary

Seeking a Project Engineer to lead engineering project execution and proposals. The PE will oversee development, production, or service programs throughout their lifecycle, serving as the technical lead.

Job Responsibilities

The candidate will manage technical solutions, ensure efficient execution, and complete tasks on time and within budget. The role requires independent work and leadership skills.

  • Lead cross-functional engineering teams and act as the technical point of contact for programs.
  • Manage performance to technical, cost, and schedule goals; oversee scope, customer relationships, and collaboration with peers.
  • Own and maintain the Technical Baseline, including requirements, specifications, drawings, and test plans.
  • Support the Program Office and develop customer technical relationships.
  • Manage customer technical data packages and control change management processes.
  • Identify obsolescence issues and develop resolution plans to meet delivery deadlines.
  • Plan, coordinate, monitor, and manage engineering projects.
  • Review customer specifications and develop designs supporting them, considering cost.
  • Provide input on budgets, costs, and schedules.
  • Create procedures, plans, and schedules.
  • Specify and evaluate components, subsystems, and services from suppliers.
  • Drive design-to-cost and manufacturability considerations.
  • Develop and implement risk management plans.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and customers.
  • Assist in proposal preparations.
  • Provide technical support to team members.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Self-motivated with excellent communication skills; capable of engaging with various stakeholders.
  • Strong team-building skills and collaboration.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%.
  • Desired skills include familiarity with lean manufacturing, requirements management tools (e.g., Cameo, DOORS), configuration management, troubleshooting, multi-disciplinary engineering experience, project management tools (MS Project), resource and cost management, EVM, advanced MS Office skills, Agile methodologies, and knowledge of DoD standards.

U.S. Citizenship and active DOD security clearance or ability to obtain one required.
