Job summary

Walker-Miller Energy Services in Illinois seeks an Associate Program Manager to lead a large-scale residential energy efficiency program. The role requires 3–5 years in program management and deep understanding of energy efficiency for residential and multi-family sectors with exposure to electrification.

You will manage staff, interface with clients and partners, monitor performance and budgets, and report results to senior management while advancing core values of BEHIVE and delivering

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 3–5 years in energy efficiency program management or related field.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Strong understanding of energy efficiency for residential and multi-family buildings.
  • Excellent client interfacing and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong leadership and teamwork abilities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities with continuous improvement focus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Associate Program Manager to help lead a large-scale, high-profile residential energy efficiency program in Illinois. The ideal candidate will have at least 3-5 years of experience in program management, a deep understanding of energy efficiency for residential and multi-family sectors, and some experience and exposure to electrification. This role requires strong leadership and client management skills, and the ability to work with diverse stakeholders effectively.


Essential Responsibilities:


  • Embrace and operate within the core values.

  • Assist in leading and managing large-scale residential energy efficiency programs from inception to completion.

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the program and staff, ensuring timely and successful delivery of services.

  • Interface with clients, stakeholders, and partners at various levels to ensure program success and address any concerns or issues.

  • Monitor program performance, conduct regular assessments, and identify and assist in the implementation of improvements to enhance program effectiveness and efficiency.

  • Coordinate with internal teams, including engineering, finance, and marketing, to ensure cohesive program execution.

  • Prepare and present detailed reports on program progress, outcomes, and impact to clients and senior management.

  • Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to energy efficiency and electrification.

  • Monitor program budgets, track expenses, and assist in meeting financial goals.


Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience the energy efficiency sector.

  • Previous supervisory experience.

  • Strong understanding of energy efficiency principles, practices, and technologies for residential and multi-family buildings.

  • Excellent client interfacing skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Exceptional communication and presentation abilities.

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.

  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.


Desired Qualifications:


  • Advanced degree, preferred.

  • 5-8 years of experience in program management of energy efficiency programs.

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint


Licenses & Certification:


  • CAPM or PMP Certification, preferred.

  • BPI Building Science Principles Certification, preferred.


Travel Requirements:


  • Willing to travel up to 20%.


Physical Demands and Work Environment


  • Required to sit, stand, walk; talk and hear; and ability to touch and handle tools and/or controls.

  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.

  • Noise level is typically low to moderate.

Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the salary information represents the job level minimum and the job level maximum. There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.



  • A team member may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. Walker-Miller Energy Services offers eligible employees health, vision and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.


Compensation Range: $66,000-$85,000/ annually
