Job Description:

The Department of Emergency Medicine at UTMC is seeking anenthusiastic and mission-driven Associate Program Director(APD) to join our growing academic program and help shape thenext generation of emergency physicians. This is an exceptionalopportunity for a physician with a passion for education, mentorship, and academic leadership.

Position Highlights:

As the Associate Program Director, you will work closely with theProgram Director to advance all aspects of our ACGME-accreditedEmergency Medicine Residency Program. This role includessubstantial leadership opportunity while keeping you activelyengaged in clinical practice in our teaching hospitals (average 24clinical hours per week).

  • Share in the leadership of the Emergency Medicine ResidencyProgram.
  • Develop, oversee, and continuously improve:
    • Resident didactics & curriculum
    • Clinical schedules and rotations
    • Faculty and resident evaluation processes
    • Resident remediation initiatives
    • New resident orientation programming
  • Assist with day-to-day program operations.
  • Assume program leadership responsibilities when the ProgramDirector is unavailable.
  • Serve as a clinical educator and role model across UTMC’steaching sites.
  • Additional duties as assigned to support programexcellence.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education: MD or DO Required
  • Eligible for or in possession of a valid medical license fromthe state of Ohio
  • Board certified or in the board examination process of theAmerican Board of Emergency Medicine
  • Committed to the education of fellows, residents, and medicalstudents
  • Eligible for credentialing at the University of Toledo, theUniversity of Toledo Medical Center and affiliated healthcareinstitutions.
