Associate Professor - Transdisciplinary Research Initiative in Inflammaging & Aging (TRIBA)
The Department of Medicine at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University is seeking outstanding applicants for a tenure-track position within the new Transdisciplinary Research Initiative in Inflammaging and Brain Aging (TRIBA). The candidate's research expertise should align with or complement existing research in aging-related disciplines. The successful candidate will establish an innovative, independent research program capable of attracting extramural funding from agencies such as the NIH, private foundations, and industry.
All faculty should be Board Eligible or Certified, holding an MD, PhD, or equivalent degree. The candidate should have at least five years of experience at the Assistant Professor rank or comparable training and background. To be eligible for tenure upon appointment, candidates must have achieved tenure at a prior institution, possess a national reputation, and be appointed as an associate or full professor.
Additional employment qualifications include:
Doctoral degree in biomedical disciplines from an accredited institution; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; proven human research experience with publications and extramural funding.
This full-time position operates year-round with a 1.0 FTE. Salary is commensurate with experience and achievements, subject to funding availability. Employees with over 6 months of employment may be eligible for Tuition Assistance.
