Job summary

Northwestern University in Evanston, IL invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Associate Professor in Contemporary Art and/or Architectural History. The appointment begins September 1, 2027; highly qualified advanced Assistant Professors will also be considered.

The successful candidate will pursue a research agenda, teach four quarter-long courses across undergraduate and graduate programs, and collaborate with faculty within the Department of Art History and across the University.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree required by start date.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses (four quarter-long courses).
• Active research agenda aligned with Art History disciplinary and global contexts.

Responsibilities

• Pursue a robust research agenda in Contemporary Art and/or Architectural History.
• Teach four quarter-long courses per academic year across undergraduate and graduate programs.
• Collaborate with faculty across departments and units within Northwestern University.
