Job summary

Northwestern University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Associate Professor in Contemporary Art and/or Architectural History, starting September 1, 2027. Advanced Assistant Professors nearing tenure may be considered.

The ideal candidate will complement our geographic strengths and contribute to diverse scholarly dialogues across the department. The successful candidate will pursue a research agenda, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and collaborate across units.

Qualifications

• PhD in Art History required by start date.

Responsibilities

• Pursue a research agenda and collaborate with faculty across units.
• Teach in undergraduate and graduate programs, four quarter-long courses per year.
• Engage in service and contribute to department and university priorities.
