Rutgers University- Newark is seeking applications for a full-time, tenure-track position as an Associate Professor in Social Work, Data and Technology to begin September 1, 2025. This unique role involves teaching, research, and service activities at the intersection of social work and data science. The individual who fills this role will have their primary faculty appointment and tenure home in the Department of Social Work and hold a core faculty affiliation with the Institute for Data Research and Innovation Science ( IDRIS ).
Candidates should have a record of scholarly publication and/or external funding, experience working with diverse student populations, and social work teaching experience. New faculty members will be expected to maintain an active body of academic research demonstrated through teaching, service and research that incorporates external funding and professional presentations, university service and community engaged scholarship. The successful candidate will have their primary assignment to the Baccalaureate Social Work program. Essential requirements for the appointment include an earned doctorate in social work, an MSW from a CSWE accredited program, and two years post- MSW social work practice experience.
