  • More than 1 year reading and interpreting basic engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 35 pounds frequently during an 8‑hour shift.

Job description

Associate Product Repair/Modification Technician Company: The Boeing Company Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Product Repair/Modification Technician (Level B) to join our International Space Station (ISS) team in Kennedy Space Center, Florida.

Position Responsibilities
  • Assembles and disassembles system components to support the correction of failures or implement changes
  • Performs routine troubleshooting of pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components
  • Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components
  • Inspects components before installation or usage to verify cleanliness and serviceability of components
  • Fabricates and modifies aerospace products according to specifications
  • Performs tasks associated with the safe handling of an aerospace vehicle (e.g. jacking, towing, system operations)
  • Works under general supervision
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
  • The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required.
  • “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • More than 1 year of experience with retrofit, repairs, modifications & maintenance.
  • More than 1 year of experience reading, understanding and interpreting basic engineering drawings and specifications.
  • The ability to lift, push, and pull up to 35 pounds frequently within an 8 hour shift.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required)
  • Associates degree in electronics, science, or in a general technical field.
  • More than 1 year of experience in pneumatic, hydraulic, propulsion, or similar systems.
  • Experience in the use and operation of dimensional measurements equipment.
  • Experience with instrumentation calibration and use.
