Are you an innovator interested in learning Product Management at CarMax?

As an Associate Product Manager, you will learn from our existing Product Teams and gain hands-on experience in driving product discovery and delivery activities. You will receive mentorship and guidance from Senior Product Managers and Product Directors, and complete CarMax PREP (Product Education Program), a tailored learning agenda designed to equip you with the necessary skills to succeed as a Product Manager after completion. Your work will focus on customer needs, improving the car buying and selling experience, and collaborating with design, engineering, and data science teams to create impactful products.

About CarMax PREP
  • Participants in the CarMax Product Education Program (PREP) will develop functional expertise necessary for a successful Product Manager career.
  • PREP emphasizes skills such as customer discovery, stakeholder management, and product analytics.
  • Participants will have opportunities to shadow existing Product Teams to observe successful operations.
Responsibilities
  • Discover and develop products and services that enhance the customer experience and drive business value.
  • Lead customer discovery initiatives to understand behaviors, motivations, and opportunities across the customer journey.
  • Develop hypotheses and iterate on prototypes to validate solutions.
  • Assess feasibility, prioritize opportunities, and work with cross-functional teams to develop and scale solutions.
  • Set goals based on data and insights, collaborating with business leaders and stakeholders.
  • Stay informed about industry trends to continuously improve customer experience.

Use data and insights to develop products that deliver a well-rounded customer experience. Lead cross-functional teams to scale experiences both online and in-store, making a tangible business impact.
