Job summary

RBC Bearings Incorporated seeks an Associate Product Manager for the Oxford, CT area. You will manage day-to-day product-line activities under supervision, including pricing, forecasting and customer development.

You will help develop product-line strategy, monitor market trends, and coordinate with sales, engineering and manufacturing to launch new products and grow margins. This role emphasizes cross-functional leadership and data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science or engineering field.
  • Technical sales experience, technical training or mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to influence and lead without formal authority.
  • Strategic thinking and analytical skills (pricing, market segmentation).
  • Bearing experience or knowledge is a plus.
  • Excellent computer skills; AS400/ASI familiarity is a plus.
  • Effective team player and leader.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day business processes for the product line under supervision.

  • Manage pricing activities and product line pricing policies.
  • Monitor industry and competitive trends affecting products.
  • Develop and track product line management plan and forecast.
  • Maintain status of opportunities and next actions.
  • Manage new product launch process and product line promotion.
  • Interface between customer and RBC sales, engineering, and plant.
  • Provide tracking data for the product line – Ops packages.
  • Forecast sales for the product line and analyze gaps vs. plan.
  • Drive product line margin improvement with plant partners.
  • Manage and expand the customer base and build relationships.
  • Prioritize projects to meet sales and profit objectives.

Associate Product Manager – Oxford, CT

Job Summary

The Associate Product Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day business processes of their respective product line(s) under the supervision of a Product Manager or Industry Manager. These day-to-day responsibilities include pricing, customer and product pareto analysis, forecasting, margin analysis, planning and the development of new customers and products.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for supporting all initiatives in the RBC Division’s product lines to achieve year-over-year sales growth.
  • Assist in the development, communication and execution of product line strategy.
  • Manage pricing activities of the product line. This includes as needed the development and execution of strategies and policies related to the product line.
  • Monitor and track industry and competitive trends impacting assigned products.
  • Develop and track product line management plan and forecast.
  • Maintain accurate status of all major opportunities, including activity history and next actions required.
  • Manage the new product launch process.
  • Promotion of product line both internally and externally.
  • Act as the interface between the customer & RBC sales, engineering, and the plant.
  • Provides the tracking data associated with the product line – Ops packages.
  • Sales forecasting for the product line, gap analysis, top 20 analysis and actual product line performance compared to plan.
  • Responsible on a shared basis with the plants for driving product line margin improvement.
  • Manage and structure the customer base through either rationalization or expansion.
  • Develop strong relationships with customers.
  • Select and prioritize projects to meet sales and profit objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned as supervisor.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in a science or engineering related field.
Requirements

  • Bearing experience or knowledge is a plus.
