Job description

Job Overview

The Associate Product Manager in T‑Mobile’s Product Organization will learn the full craft of product management by actively owning end‑to‑end feature work. The role focuses on understanding the customer problem behind each feature, translating that into clear requirements, and demonstrating that shipped work moves the intended business metric.

Job Responsibilities
Product Learning & Growth
  • Own a feature end to end—accountable for its delivery and impact on the intended metric.
  • Seek and apply proactive feedback from PM, engineering, and design partners.
  • Treat every launch as a learning event: define expected metrics, monitor post‑launch data, and provide insights.
  • Develop AI fluency and apply AI tools to accelerate documentation, research synthesis, and requirements work.
  • Maintain a current understanding of the product area, customer experience, and emerging tech trends.
Customer Problem Understanding
  • Ground every feature in a specific customer problem before writing requirements.
  • Identify the customer behavior the feature is designed to change and articulate why.
  • Participate in end‑user research and VOC sessions.
  • Test ideas and prototypes with real customers; validate with post‑launch data.
  • Identify patterns in customer feedback and bring unmet needs to the PM.
Product Strategy & Vision
  • Understand product strategy and connect feature work to broader goals.
  • Track outcomes, measuring whether the feature changed customer behavior.
  • Participate in developing feature sets and positioning strategies.
  • Analyze competitive landscape and bring market observations to planning.
Stakeholder Alignment
  • Build working relationships with PXDI, engineering, and data partners early.
  • Keep partners informed on status, blockers, and outcomes proactively.
  • Participate in cross‑functional meetings and follow up on action items.
  • Collaborate on release planning and support go‑to‑market with product knowledge.
Communication
  • Own communication of the feature to stakeholders, including performance and future plans.
  • Write clear, concise, and actionable documentation, user stories, and status updates.
  • After launch, provide data‑driven insights on outcomes.
  • Communicate defect status and resolution progress.
Data & Financial Acumen
  • Read product analytics independently and identify which metric each feature should move.
  • Use AI to accelerate analysis, while owning interpretation and recommendation.
  • Monitor post‑launch data, identify gaps, and propose hypotheses.
Ownership & Autonomy
  • Challenge assumptions and provide reasoned alternatives when necessary.
  • Escalate problems early; act on ambiguity when the path is clear.
  • Write detailed acceptance criteria and documentation, using AI for drafts and reviewing critically.
  • Assist with backlog grooming and defect prioritization.
  • Ensure quality of downstream artifacts.
Experience & AI Tools
  • Apply AI tools to core tasks—requirements, research synthesis, documentation, and analysis—without sacrificing quality.
  • Direct AI for first drafts and critically review output.
  • Stay current on evolving AI tools relevant to product work.
Education and Work Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree plus 2 years of related work experience, or a combination of education and experience deemed equivalent. (Required)
  • 0–2 years of relevant Product Management experience in an agile environment. (Preferred)
