Job summary

Analog Devices Inc. in Washington state is seeking an Associate Process Sustaining Engineer to sustain and improve wafer fabrication processes in a high‑volume semiconductor facility.

You will own processes, analyze data, and partner with operations to improve yield, quality, cost, and cycle time. The ideal candidate has a strong semiconductor processing background with photolithography expertise, and can work on-site in a fast‑paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment with ownership and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a physics/chemistry/materials science/electronics or related engineering field.
  • 2+ years in semiconductor manufacturing, preferably photolithography.
  • Strong understanding of photolithography theory and process knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Sustain high‑volume wafer manufacturing by applying technical expertise in photolithography.
  • Develop improvements to production processes to raise yield and reduce costs.
  • Investigate root causes of discrepant materials and drive quality improvements.
  • Troubleshoot process shifts and apply SPC to identify gaps.
  • Optimize processes to maximize output and align performance across tools.
  • Qualify new equipment and processes for production use.
  • Analyze cycle time and overall equipment effectiveness to drive improvements.

Job Description

We are seeking an Associate Process Sustaining Engineer to join our manufacturing engineering team and play a key role in sustaining and improving wafer fabrication processes in a high‑volume semiconductor environment. This role is responsible for driving continuous improvements in yield, quality, cost, and cycle time through hands‑on process ownership, data‑driven analysis, and close partnership with manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate brings a strong technical foundation in semiconductor processing, preferably CMP, and thrives in a fast‑paced operation where ownership, collaboration, and adaptability are essential.

Typical Responsibilities
  • Sustaining high volume wafer manufacturing by providing technical expertise in photolithography processes
  • Developing improvements to manufacturing processes and modifications to production process flows to improve yield, quality, cost, and cycle time
  • Root cause investigation of discrepant material and implementation of quality improvement programs
  • Troubleshooting process shifts and applying SPC fundamentals to identify areas for improvement
  • Optimizing process to lower cost, maximize output, and match performance across tools
  • Qualifying new equipment and new processes
  • Analyzing cycle time and equipment overall operational efficiency
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Electronics, or a related engineering field of study.
  • 2+ years of semiconductor manufacturing experience in photolithography, with preference for TEL ACT8 track, die coat polyimide and spin on glass experience
  • Good understanding of photolithography theory and process knowledge
  • Able to work on-site in cleanroom

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Demonstrated technical leadership skills and ability to productively engage with individuals from a range of backgrounds.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work independently with a high degree of ownership
  • Flexibility to learn new systems, platforms and processes
  • Able to adapt to frequently changing environment
  • Self‑starter with a strong work ethic who will thrive in a dynamic 24/7 operation
  • Strong knowledge and past ownership of photolithography track tool is desired
Export Control

Salary

The expected wage range for a new hire into this position is $64,000 to $88,000. Actual wage offered may vary depending on work location, experience, education, training, external market data, internal pay equity, or other bona fide factors.

Performance Bonus

This position qualifies for a discretionary performance‑based bonus which is based on personal and company factors.
