Job summary

Cambrex in Iowa is seeking an Associate Process Engineer to launch a career in chemical engineering with the support of highly experienced engineers and scientists who will mentor and guide you through a broad rotation. You will experience Process, Production, Validation, Project, Environmental and Reliability roles over about two years.

You will gain hands-on experience with batch processes and unit operations such as reactions, distillation, extraction, filtration, and drying, developing

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of core chemical engineering fundamentals.
• Ability to analyze data from sensors and experiments to identify trends.
• Excellent problem-solving and investigative skills.
• Clear technical writing and communication abilities.
• Meticulous attention to detail and safety awareness.
• Adaptability to changing priorities and new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Perform scaling calculations for unit operations and assist with process design.
• Participate in process reviews for operability, safety and quality.
• Support production campaigns through in-person observation.
• Analyze production and lab data to aid process understanding.
• Draft manufacturing documents: PFDs, batch records, SOPs.
• Develop and perform EQ/FQ/IQ/OQ protocols and reports.
